Schools interested in undergoing the evaluation process leading to accreditation first apply for Candidate Membership in the Institute. Applicant schools are visited by two school heads with experience in the evaluation process to determine whether the school will be ready within three years to undergo the full evaluation and accreditation process. Candidate Member Schools must complete a full evaluation within three years of joining CESI. The school’s internal evaluation is intended to provide evidence that the school meets the Standards of the Institute and is worthy of accreditation. The Visiting Committee’s review validates the findings in the school’s own report and provides recommendations and suggestions for school improvement. The evaluation process enables each school to be more accountable to all of its constituents. CESI schools vary greatly in size and composition. At each of these schools a program of sound instruction is given by dedicated teachers who deal with students and parents on a direct, personal level.
